ART OF HUSTLE
Art of Hustle is a 6 week program available to students in the fall and spring nationwide. Students meet twice a week virtually to participate in service-learning development programs which are devised to develop students' interest in community building, enhance soft and social skills, and introduce them to STEM/Arts careers.
"Programs like the Hustlers Guild help prepare more youth of color to enter STEAM disciplines and thrive there. By supporting the Hustlers Guild, we will be making a lifelong difference in the lives of students and families."
Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC)
BEAT THE ODDS
Beat the Odds is a 28-week program that focuses on healing the trauma of inner-city youth through music and arts. Using Hip Hop as one of its focal points, this program addresses violence such as peer-to-peer, student-to-parent, law enforcement relationships, financial literacy, artist development, sound engineering, music production, and job readiness.
Grant us the serenity to stay true to ourselves, dedicated to our talents, and provide resources to our neighborhoods and communities.
The Hustlers Guild Prayer
This is an E-Learning and E-Support platform for high school and college students to aide them during the digital divide of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Connecting students to each other and to industry leaders, celebrities, and entrepreneurs with experience in paving the way through adversity, students are coached to navigate the trauma and uncertainties resulting from the pandemic. Since launching, featured guests have included Anthony Anderson, Rickey Smiley, Snoop Dogg, Calboy, and Jess Hilarious.
"Seeing the enjoyment on these kids faces, who otherwise would have never thought about producing a movie, was one of the most gratifying feelings I've ever had!"
Retired NBA Champion and Entrepreneur, Matt Barnes
DON'T SHOOT GUNS SHOOT CAMERAS
A week long filmmaking camp hosted by comedian/philanthropist Red Grant and former NBA Champion and Entrepreneur Matt Barnes. The camp helps spur interest in all aspects of the filmmaking process while teaching youth alternative career paths beyond what they see in their communities.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS
ELIMINATING GENERATIONAL POVERTY BY BUILDING PIPELINES TO EDUCATIONAL AND WORKFORCE OPPORTUNITIES.
CLOSING THE SCHOOL-TO-PRISON PIPELINE BY EXPOSING YOUTH TO CAREERS THAT WILL LEAD TO BETTER LIFE OUTCOMES.
DIVERSIFYING STE(A)M CAREERS
BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE ENTERING THE STEM RELATED CAREERS, WE WILL NOT ONLY INCREASE DIVERSITY BUT WILL ASSIST IN COMPANIES FINDING ROBUST TALENT FOR THEIR WORKFORCE.
HG uniquely focuses on three areas of development and preparation for students (1. College and Career Readiness, 2. Certifications, and 3. Entrepreneurship). To promote inclusive learning and heighten engagement, all of our programming is student-driven based on their interests and lack of exposure to various industries.
Focus on training students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in preparation for political, entertainment, and business careers in the public and private sector. Students meet with industry leaders, celebrities, and entrepreneurs in the STE(A)M industries for Ted-Talk style seminars.
Individual members of The Hustlers Guild have been active in our respective communities for years. The organization was formed because we believed our collective voice would garner a larger social impact than continuing independently. In addition, HG trains and hosts professional development seminars for teachers and administrators on the importance of integrating a diverse and inclusive curriculum.
